
Fırat (1995, Istanbul) is a multidisciplinary filmmaker. Studied film at Kadir Has University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Bilgi University. His first short film, Ziyafet (2019), was screened at the Sarajevo Film Festival. In 2023, he completed his debut feature-length film, Kavur, which had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Kavur went on to become one of the most awarded local films of the year, receiving, among others, the SİYAD Best Documentary Award, the TRT Documentary Awards Jury Special Prize, and the Best Documentary Award at the Ankara Film Festival.
Since 2023, he has continued his film production under Luna Filmworks, which he co-founded. In his work, he explores concepts such as personal and collective memory, faith, and belonging, seeking new avenues for cinematic expression.
